Wintel Engineer- 6 Month Contract - €300 per day - Central Dublin - Financial Services
Our client a market leader within Financial Services and is currently seeking a Wintel Engineer to join their team. Based in Dublin central the role is an initial 6 month contract with a view to extend. Your role will be to:
Work as part of a global operations team supporting a large and business critical Windows physical and VMware environment.
The operations team are responsible for the support and maintenance of the EMEA region Servers working collaboratively with application teams to ensure all appropriate actions are taken when performing hardware and software activities.
Related responsibilities typically include the following:
- Root cause analysis of mitigated incidents and mitigate customer ticket reports.
- Live site incident response during the EMEA shift, rapid triage and service restoration during critical incidents.
- Service stability, performance and responsible for the SLA/SLO achievements for all incidents and requests.
- Reporting on operational metrics/scorecard and daily morning status.
- Support critical systems and equipment to provide operational integrity, security and maintenance.
- Wintel Ops On-call Rota - availability maybe required to support Severity 1 and 2 incident.
- Ensure adherence to internal procedures and processes for hardware, software deployment.
- Perform hardware and software recovery where needed.
- Weekend/Night coverage required when needed for support and maintenance weekends.
To be successful you will have:
- 5 years in an IT Operations and troubleshooting role
- Expert level of Windows 2008 and 2012 operating systems and Active Directory with working knowledge of the following Unix, Linux, Citrix and Storage desirable.
- Strong and demonstrated knowledge level of VMware vCenter/Vshpere 5.0, 5.5 and upwards. VCP desirable.
- Demonstrated experience is supporting hardware issues and updates including Servers, blades and chassis. Primarily DELLl Server hardware and OpenManage.
- Expert knowledge administering Active Directory (AD) and GPO's.
- Understanding of Networks, DNS, DHCP, Desktop, Security, Patch & security management services
- Strong in Scripting - PowerShell, PowerCli, Shell Scripts
- ITIL Foundation
- MSCE qualifications -desirable.
