Clerk of Works
Location: Nationwide
Rate: Negotiable
Due to growth and project acquirement, Comvergent require a Clerk of Works within a specific FTTC project.
The Clerk of Works will start work ASAP and is national to start with although as the project grows it may become regional.
Responsible for acting as a clerk of works walking the job and ensuring a high standard of workmanship on upgrading the cabling capacity between street located PCP and DSLAM cabinets.
Responsibilities of Clerk of Works;
- Surveying the street cabinets to ensure space is available for additional cable terminations
- Surveying ducting to ensure it is not blocked
- Fitting side pods to street cabinets to increase capacity
- Pulling in, terminating and testing additional cables between cabinets
- Monitoring field operatives (direct labour and sub contract) to ensure that all works are completed on time, in full compliance with H&S requirements and that contractual processes, procedures and quality standards are met.
Background of Clerk of Works
- 3+ years experience on FTTC/Fiber projects
- Previous Clerk of Works or Quality Surveying/Auditing experience on DSLAM and PCP activities
- Experience of cable and splicing.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety in particular to streetworks, and although not essential it would be beneficial to hold a current NRSWA Ticket.
