Description
I am currently looking for a System Support Specialist OS HP UX for a long term contract based in Prague.
The System Support Specialist OS HP UX will be Responsibilities for the following:
- Responds to and resolves issues with both the regional and global infrastructure server environment setup hosted within the ITS - 2nd level of OS server support.
- Demonstrates a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving. Has acquired an appreciation of the wider field of ITS outside his/her own specialization and has developed a good broad understanding of computer system architecture. Within a limited time horizon, is able to plan, schedule and monitor own work competently.
- Consults as required on a project by project on server specification and capacity adhering to Global standards. Provides advice to users on systems, products and services, which are available to them.
- Administration of OS on 2nd level.
- On a day-to-day basis resolve incidents
- Creating and managing Login Scripts
- Administration of SQL DB on 1st and 2nd level.
- Administration of Antivirus Symantec End Protection on Servers.
- Continuous improvement of existing RUN service.
- Oversees the administration of all applications on Servers by using appropriate monitoring tools.
- Ensures continuous support is provided regarding operating system, software and hardware issues by answering questions and/or resolving problems.
- Troubleshoot server hardware
- Frequent contact and collaboration with IT support colleagues globally (EMEA, APIS, AMIS)
- Documenting of activities and processes in own area for purposes of Knowledge Capture
The System Support Specialist OS HP UX will ideally have the following skills and expertise:
- Proficient strong knowledge of server infrastructure
- Proficient in installation and administration of HP UX )
- Proficient in installation and administration of Veritas Storage Foundation/Infoscale (3.5 - 7.x), incl. Veritas Cluster Server
- Proficient in installation and administration of AIX (5.x-7.1)
- Proficient in Networking technology (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Proficient with Global Service Now
- Basic knowledge of data backup technology (Veritas NetBackup)
- Basic knowledge of clustering technologies from Microsoft and Veritas
- Basic knowledge of file storage (NAS)
- Aware of Programming/Scripting Languages
- Good knowledge of enterprise storage technologies and principles
- Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library
- Knowledge of Global Information Processes
