Description

This is an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished Head of Development. The majority of the development team is based in Galway with a number in Paris ; this role will be based in Galway with occasional trips to the UK and France as required.

*The role is open to permanent or interim applications*

JOB PURPOSE

  • To consolidate the current development teams into a single team with common development management systems across all products
  • To improve the efficiency and quality of development production through strong change control and release management, test automation, good access to design patterns and common architectures and technology roadmaps
  • To improve the communication of project prioritisation and status to the technology teams and senior management
  • To enable the transition of the current system components to cloud based Real Time services accessed through a managed API
  • To attract and retain development talent and build skills in new technologies and best practices in development
  • To enable efficient control of remote development effort including outsourced teams, integration projects and partners

  • Implement best practice for design, code, test and build across all teams
  • Documented processes, automated tracking and dashboards
  • Evolution towards continuous delivery and cloud deployment
  • API managed service delivery
  • Keep fully up-to-date with development technology, to ensure that the Fintrax Group keep ahead of their competitors. Keep the CTO regularly updated.
  • Be fully familiar and understand authority level and ultimate accountability of this role. Liaise regularly with the CTO, IT Management team members and relevant stakeholders to ensure full compliance as the levels are dynamic as the business grows.
  • Participate in the Company's Performance Management System and ensure full compliance with all policies and procedures, reporting systems and Company Values at all times.
