My client requires a Unix/Aix engineer to start ASAP on a Unix project to retire their current NIS (Network Information Service). The Unix/AIX Engineer's ( UNIX / AIX / NIS / Engineer ) role is to fundamentally look at where the NIS feeds in and identify systems that are dependant/impacted by the NIS retirement work.
Essentials of the Unix/AIX Engineer ( UNIX / AIX / NIS / Engineer ) :
- OpenLDAP Experience
- Unix/AIX Experience
- NIS (Network Information Service) experience
Summary for the Unix/AIX Engineer ( UNIX / AIX / NIS / Engineer ) :
- Determine how best to manage issues that may arise as a result of the NIS retirement.
- Determine timeline for all work activities that need to be completed as part of the NIS retirement.
- Co-ordinate any application/service migrations, etc., that may be required to enable the NIS retirement initiative to be successfully completed.
- Systematic identification and replacement of affected scripts, etc.
- Formal retirement of the NIS servers.
