Description
A global Renewable Energy client is currently looking for a Consultant to work as an Onshore Export Cable Installation Supervisor (Senior Staff) for their offshore wind farm project. This is anticipated to be a 15 month freelance contract role starting from 1st June 2017 up until approximately 31st August 2018 with the possibility of extending further thereafter. Hours of work will be 7.5 hrs per day/5 days a week.Responsibilities:
- Daily onsite management of the early enabling works. Daily auditing and monitoring of the early enabling works. (Survey, trial holes, Archaeological digs, UXO investigation, hedgerow removal, drainage, installation).
- Daily audits and monitoring of the drainage and ducting works in accordance with RAMS and agreed methodologies.
- To ensure agreed QA procedures are being followed and signed off on a daily basis.
- To maintain a photographic diary of works on behalf of the client.
- To maintain clients diary of site activities.
- To oversee activities that have a client witness or holding point, cleaning and proving of ducts prior to cable installation.
- Onsite overseeing TR testing of soils and sands during work and earth testing of joint bays.
- Onsite overseeing handover of cable deliveries to installation contractor following visual inspection and testing.
- Onsite overseeing handover of joint bays between onshore cable installation contractor and cable supply/jointing contractor.
- Onsite overseeing scaffolding erection and cable installation and daily onsite interfaces with other packages within the substation.
- Minimum 2 - 3 years of practical as well as theoretical experience within HV export cables, components or installation.
- Must have good project engineer skills.
- The Consultant must bring his/her own PC with MS Office 2007 software or newer and must have an iPhone telephone, or Windows 8.1.
- The Consultant must has his/her own PPE equipment.
