Interim Head of Property Investment & Acquisition (Inside IR35)

Our client, a government organisation based in Hampshire are looking to on-board an Interim Head of Property Investment & Acquisition. You will support the growing aspirations around investment properties and to support the ongoing regeneration schemes within both areas in terms of property acquisition and land assembly. The role is contract, initially 6 months, however, there is a strong chance it will go on for longer.

The primary function of the role is however the growth of the property investment portfolio.

Main Responsibilities:

The function of the role is to manage the property functions within the organisation including:

  • The acquisition of no less than £200m of investment property by 2022 to provide a net yield of 5% per annum across the portfolio
  • The acquisition of no less than £50m of investment property by 2020 to provide a net yield of 5% per annum across the portfolio
  • To establish suitable teams for acquisition and asset management and processes including governance and sign off arrangements.
  • To develop asset management strategy.
  • To oversee the specific contract in terms of asset management function
  • To support the regeneration aspirations via the Head of Regeneration in terms of key site acquisition (including possible CPO) and Land Assembly

Job Purpose:

  • The management of the Acquisitions functions externally
  • The management of the Asset management function internally
  • To liaise with the two respective Heads of Service of Regeneration on regeneration property acquisitions
  • To liaise with the Head of Finance to secure funding and borrowing for Acquisitions

Key Experience and Qualifications:

  • RICS Qualified as a Member
  • Substantial experience of development and managing a service to include investment acquisitions, asset management teams, asset management strategies, disposals and identifying maximising and protecting revenue from an investment portfolio
