This role is deemed inside IR35
A leading broadcasting organisation currently has a requirement for a Software Engineer based in Salford, Manchester and will be paying up to £450 per day.
This role sits within the R & D team and the successful candidate will be tasked with working with IP technology to build new production systems for TV, Radio and Digital broadcasting. The role will help the organisation automate the management of the main platform so it can be used across a range of different platforms.
Your main role responsibility will be to deploy and set up software by making use of configuration management tools.
The ideal candidate
- Demonstrable experience of Linux (Ubuntu needed, CentOS ideal)
- Experience of virtualisation and containers eg KVM, Docker or LXC
- Python and Bash Scripting experience
- Experience of Git, Debian and Red Hat systems (deb/rpm)
- Demonstrable experience of automation tooling, Ansible and Packer are the preferred choices
- A good understanding of local area networking and inter networking concepts and technologies
- You are familiar with server and application monitoring, logging and metrics collection
