Description
Typical tasks/responsibilities:
Provides evaluation, engineering/design and implementation services for new products, technologies and solutions to address corporate business requirements.
Focuses on complex engineering, architectural and implementation tasks
Lead projects associated to the enhancement, upgrade/patching, or implementation of new or existing technology solutions
Provides support to Tier 1 and 2 database administrators
Maintain a comprehensive monitoring and alerting process across all Operations platforms.
Facilitate strategic planning activities (capacity planning, process improvement, maintenance, upgrade and end-of-life planning, roadmap development)
Incident/problem management:
Daily production support activities following the SLA's & ITIL processes
Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting
Demonstrates creativity and takes initiative in problem solving.
Resolves or facilitates resolution of complex problems.
Identify automation opportunities and implement scripted solutions.
Perform crisis management during high-severity operational incidents
Change management:
Perform database patching across all environments
Perform database refreshes to allow integration testing
Capacity and Performance Management
Tuning of SQL statements. Tuning of DB's. Reporting and forecasting of the capacity of databases.
Quality Improvement
Definition and implementation of proactive actions to improve the availability, performance and security of the Oracle databases.
Development of scripts to automate recurrent tasks.
Setup of operational documents and transfer/hand-over towards the colleagues .
Profile:
English is a must, French and Dutch is a plus.
Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems.
Experience with Windows is a plus.
Expert within Oracle environments. (minimum 5 years).
Experience with other DB engines is a plus.
Experience within a large production environment.
Scripting - PL/SQL and Shell Scripting
You manage RMAN, Statspack, Enterprise Manager, OID,
Experience with database performance tuning including determining database disk requirements and layouts, tuning of database parameters, and tuning queries/jobs
Ability to work with other technical colleagues within the organisation
Demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills in prioritizing and executing assigned tasks.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Must be able to work independently as well as work close in team environment.
Demonstrates a customer service approach to service delivery and effectively communicates with our customers on requests and incidents.
General knowledge concerning Enterprise IT infrastructure and architecture is mandatory (storage, clustering, virtualization, consolidation, cloud)
Mission:
You will participate at the multiple missions of the DBA's.
Main focus:
Migration of the Oracle databases from Solaris to Linux.
Implementation of DaaS (for faster "refreshes)
Automation of delivery of new databases
Improvement of the security of our Oracle databases.
Implementation of Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Upgrade of 11g databases to 12c rel2
Implementation of Multi-tenant design.
Compliancy with GDPR rules.
Management of the licences (compliancy checks and optimisation)
