Position: Senior Network Engineer/Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Salary: Negotiable (Hourly Rate, Day Rate or Yearly PAYE Salary - Client is flexible with regards to candidate payment preferences)
Contract Type: Initial 12 Month Contract

SENIOR NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER

Our client a global pharmaceutical organisation are looking for an experienced Senior Network Infrastructure engineer to join their team based on site in Dublin on initial 12 month contract

Senior Network Engineer/Infrastructure Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Provides deep subject matter expertise, advice and supports program delivery.
  • Support projects and initiatives related to network security
  • Required to respond to all team queries and liaise with both internal teams and external suppliers to resolve issues or potential complaints.
  • Handle technical escalations
  • Acts as a source of technical expertise to others in own area and across the business
  • Drive standards across the network and ensure that we are fully compliant to those standards and policies
  • Installation and Maintenance of Server Infrastructure including hardware maintenance and server patching.
  • Installation, Configuration and maintenance of core networking equipment
  • Assists with the acquisition and installation of new network hardware
  • Internal and External stakeholder management

Senior Network Engineer/Infrastructure Engineer Requirements/Skills:

  • Formal Information Technology or equivalent qualification desirable.
  • Experience working within a Manufacturing environment is highly advantageous
  • Industry Certified Professional Qualifications an advantage (MCITP, MCSA, MCSE, CCNP, CCNA, CCNA Voice, VCP, RHCE)
  • You will have a min of 5 years' experience working with networking infrastructure
  • You will have complete knowledge of network equipment such as Routers, Switches, Firewalls and associated equipment.
  • Knowledge of security systems and processes at network is also desirable requirement.
  • Technical understanding of Active Directory, Server Operating Systems, Exchange, Virtualization, SAN Storage, Networking, Firewalls, VPN and SQL
  • Knowledge of security issues and implications to network solutions.
  • Knowledge of network dynamic routing protocols - BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
  • Knowledge of network WAN technologies - MPLS, VPLS, IP SLA
  • DNS & DHCP understanding
  • Possesses and routinely applies broad knowledge of network related processes and procedures to the completion of complex assignments.
  • Possesses knowledge, skills and abilities required to resolve most network related problems.
  • Strong knowledge of network performance, hardware and software.
  • Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of highly complex problems.
  • Ability to consistently apply broad knowledge of network administration to the diagnoses and resolution of network problems.
  • A key team player with high-level customer and organisational skills.
  • Good people awareness and an ability to build rapport with team members, customers and management of all levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
