Description
Oliver James Associates are supporting a leading life insurance company who require an interim Senior Underwriter to join the business on a 12-month contract. The position sits within the Employee Benefits Division and the successful candidate will provide superior underwriting expertise. This day rate contract is offering competitive rates and remote working as a benefit.
Location: Sussex - remote working (from home) possible.
Duration: 12 months
Day Rate: £200 - £300/day (negotiable)
Start: Immediately or ASAP.
Principle Accountabilities
- Underwrite complex new and existing business quotations accurately and within agreed pricing and risk guidelines.
- Provide creative solutions to complex underwriting issues.
- Work collaboratively and effectively with all business partners, positively supporting key strategic relationships by making pragmatic and commercially focused underwriting decisions to help achieve sales targets and treat customers fairly.
- Proactively share technical knowledge and understanding to assist with underwriter development to support the underwriting centre of excellence.
- Attend meetings with brokers and the Sales team as and when required.
- Support the Head of Scheme Underwriting with ad-hoc tasks and project work as required as an underwriting SME.
Skills
- Experience of underwriting for a life insurance business
- Any financial services qualifications -such as GR1, FPC or ACII etc or equivalent
- Must have strong computer skills in all MS packages
- Systems knowledge (particularly in workflow packages) desired
