Description

A leading renewable energy client is looking for a Consultant to work as a Fabrication Inspector for their offshore wind farm project to be based in Belgium. The Fabrication Inspector will be site representative at the fabrication yard in relation to coordination and supervision of activities during fabrication for example quality control and inspector activities. This is anticipated to be a 4 month freelance contract to start 1st September 2017 up until approx. 31st December 2017 with the possibility of extending further thereafter. Hours of work will be 5 days a week, 9 -10 hrs a day on average.
Responsibilities:
  • Daily monitoring of fabrication (Contractor and their sub-contractors) to ensure that the work is done in accordance with the latest forwarded technical specification, requirements and standard
  • Monitoring and supervision of (including providing input and preparing method statements
  • Fabrication of Jacket and Topside module to include subcontractors
  • Load out and sail-away
  • Sea fastening
  • Offshore welding of topside module to the jacket structure
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years. practical as well theoretical experience within offshore wind or steel construction or familiar with steel fabrication and inspection, NDT and coating such as: IWI/IWS International Welding Inspection/Specialist, IWT/IWE International Welding Technician/Welding Engineer and FROSIO light.
