CMDB Analyst is required by one of the Big Four Consultancies for six month project based in Milton Keynes.
IT Service Management, Configuration Analyst - Entry to Medium Level, Milton Keynes
As part of the Resilience Programme, there is a project to upgrade the CMDB. This role will be reporting directly to the Configuration Manager and will be responsible for proactively assisting Service Management activities in relation to the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
Responsibilities
Business and Technical Services support
- Be the point of contact for co-ordinating project documentation
- Work with Technical Implementation Managers to ensure Service Catalogue documentation is fit for purpose
- Collate service catalogue data and ensure this is available within the CMDB
- Work with stakeholders to ensure that Configuration Items are up to date and accurate
CMDB Data Validation
- Support the Configuration Manager in developing systems, tools and processes designed to improve data quality
- Perform data readiness and validation tests on data imports
- Liaise with the Business Applications team to manage data uploads
- Collate and verify data from secondary and supplementary datasets
- Work with technical teams, to discover and validate data
CMDB Project Support
- Administer the establishment of Communities of Practice by:
- Updating necessary records and lists
- Co-ordinating changes (permissions) into ServiceNow
- Support the Configuration Manager in the facilitation of workshops/meetings and other events designed to support the Project
- Support the Configuration Manager to author standard Operational Guidelines for CMDB Data Entry
Support ServiceNow enhancements
- Work with the Business Applications team to:
- Undertake discovery and business analysis for enhancements
- Test enhancements in Test and Development environments
