Description

Currently recruiting a Data Centre M+E Technician to be based on customer site in Fareham, this role requires demonstrable experience working with the critical infrastructure which supports a T3+ Data Centre. Systems experience must include; operation of electrical panels, switching schedules, HVAC, generator operation, CRAC Units, chilled water plant (chillers) operation, UPS, BMS.
Previous experience monitoring the critical infrastructure through software tools (APC ISX Struxureware and TREND 963) is required. Knowledge on the installation of Copper CAT6 and Fibre OM3/4 Patch Leads would also be desirable as this role will require end to end network connectivity from the IT rack to the outside world. Perform Daily Checks around the critical infrastructure recording and reporting all potential faults.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety First ensure all H&S rules and practices are adhered to by all.
Carry out daily site plant checks complete records and report any defects.
Working with shift engineers within a environment
Ensure all planned maintenance is carried out in a timely manner
Carry out any smart hand requests issued by clients.
Complete and approve any permit to work requests from known sources
Maintain a safe and tidy site ensuring all waste materials are disposed of correctly
Under take any additional training that may be required to perform tasks.
Supervise third party contractors in accordance with RAMS and site rules.
Skill Requirements:
Have completed a recognised qualification in either Electrical Mechanical Datacoms or Telecoms.
Have previous experience in critical environments/Data Centre
Experience in LV distribution
Experience in chilled water systems
Experience in copper and fibre patching and circuits
Experience in BMS trend systems
Comply with crisis management, commands and controls
Possess excellent computer skills.
Please note this role is covering a operation and shifts will be 12 hour days & nights working on 4 on 4 off basis.
