Description

Our Renewable Energy client is looking for a Consultant to work as a SCADA Radio Engineer for their offshore wind farm project, this is a Senior Staff role. The SCADA Radio Engineer will oversee the installation of radio equipment for the offshore platforms while they are still in the yards. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring functionality of systems, working to the client's specifications and the installation is made correctly. The Engineer will be required to take part in Site Acceptance Tests on the yard and make sure documentation is delivered from the client Radio Contractor, this being a key task. This is anticipated to be a 5 month freelance contract role, due to start 1st November 2017 up until the 31st March 2018 with the possibility of extending further thereafter. Work patterns: Onshore will be 8 hrs a day 5 days a week. Offshore will be 12 hrs a day 2 weeks on/2 weeks off, accommodation will be on board vessel.

Responsibilities:
  • To be the main technical resource on the telecom contract.
  • Manage technical interfaces with other stakeholders.
  • Ensure the correct quality is delivered from the contractor in all phases of the project, ranging from design to installation and commissioning.
  • Be transparent towards SCADA Manager regarding state of the telecom delivery.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of project experience required, technical RF knowledge at BSc level.
  • Practical installation experience, within radio the field of radio communication.
  • Experience knowledge and competence within radio technologies such as TETRA, VHF FM/AM, AIS, ADS-B.
  • Structured personality is required.
  • Must have good project engineer skills (technical skilled, integrity, communication, adaptability, teamwork, decision-making and planning).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Have good knowledge about intermodulation, including passive intermodulation (PIM) and knowledge about appropriate tools.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office & MS Visio.
Special Provision:
The Consultant must bring his/her PC with MS Office 2007 software and iPhone-mobile telephone
together with his/her own PPE equipment.
