3 to 6 Month Contract

Summary of Position:

The Solutions Architect spends 90% of their time supporting project teams implementing application and infrastructure change projects globally and 10% of their time working with the IT Architecture team in the creation of roadmaps, standards and future state architectures.

The Solutions Architect works closely with the Hosting Solutions Architect, Network Solutions Architect and End User Compute Solutions Architect and the business in order to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective solutions and new technologies for managing changes.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities of this position are related to the architecture and delivery of solutions and standards in the IT Enterprise Architecture Function.

Some of the specific responsibilities of this role include:

  • Provide architectural consulting to programs, projects and initiatives.
  • Design and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the organization's technologies and architectures.
  • Develop logical, conceptual and physical architectural models.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of strategic business plans.
  • Communicate architectural decisions, plans, goals and strategies to project teams.
  • Gain organizational commitment for enterprise level architecture and initiatives.
  • Initiate and deliver technology evaluations and recommendations.
  • Support business and IT strategic planning.
  • Develop, communicate and deploy Enterprise Architecture Governance processes.
  • Review new and existing program/project architecture for compliance with IT standards, policies and architectural plans.
  • Maintain domain level documents in an Enterprise Architecture repository and tool set.

Candidate Qualifications:

The Solutions Architect will be an overall effective manager, communicator, and leader. She/he will be able to conceptualize, plan, document and communicate effectively. The correct candidate will possess energy, develop value-added service definitions, and help lead change.

The successful candidate for this position will have the following experience and expertise:

  • 7 - 10 years relevant work experience.
  • 3 - 5 years' experience as solution architect
  • Very deep knowledge and significant experience on application development and integration.
  • Very understanding of various business domains ( Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales and Supply-chain)
  • Provide engineering leadership in design and implementation of solutions, strategies and technologies.
  • Architect level knowledge and hands-on experience with some combination of storage, compute, cloud, and virtualization technologies
  • Good understanding of Virtualization technologies such as VMware
  • Architect, Design and implement health check operations.
  • Resolve and troubleshoot technical issues on complex global technologies.
  • Constantly and consistently a top performer who can be counted on to exceed goals on a regular basis
  • Effective communicator and presenter in formal and informal settings
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Team-oriented, collaborative environment leadership skills
  • Clear thinker who anticipates and develops strategies for anticipated future consequences and trends on both application and infrastructure areas.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience
