Description

Great opportunity for a Windows System Administrator to join an international client in Valencia, Spain on a long term contract basis.
Working in a multinational environment, the successful Systems Admin will provide on-going support to Windows based infrastructure, Platform Automation and Azure Cloud management.
This is an English-speaking role and candidates will be expected to be confident or fluent in the language. Technically, we want someone with a proven background in systems administration and Microsoft windows and related environments. Interested candidates should also be available and prepared to live and work in Valencia full time for the course of the contract - there is no remote option.
As part of the Client's Windows Support Unit the Systems Administrator will:
  • Install and configure various versions of Windows Server, including Windows 2012 R2 and 2016.
  • Define and implement security best practices and hardening of the Windows Server OS and related technologies.
  • Implement configurations related to failover clustering, SAN, multipath plus backup, patching management and monitoring.
  • Identify and troubleshoot known problems and document solutions, participate and follow ISO 20000 standards.
  • Design, develop and maintain automation tools aiming at optimizing the management of the infrastructure.
  • Develop a Cloud Management Platform, according to the client's needs.
  • Document solutions and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform required tasks in ongoing maintenance of the Windows Server infrastructure.
  • Ability to grasp concepts, logical and analytical approach to solving problems.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • The scope of work includes stand-by services on a rotation basis during weekends, holidays and outside of normal working hours.
As an experienced Systems Administrator you should have the following:
  • Minimum 8 years' experience with Windows Server administrator in large environments.
  • Knowledge of a configuration management solution such as SCCM.
  • Good knowledge of Azure Cloud.
  • Knowledge of Platform automation tools, such as Puppet, Foreman, WDS, extended use of PowerShell and XML editing.
  • Good understanding of Virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Good understanding of Directory Services components, such as Active Directory, GPO, FSMO roles, DNS and DHCP.
  • Fluent level of English,
  • A good level of Spanish spoken and written is an advantage.
  • IT Certifications such as MCSE for Windows 2012 and ITIL are preferred.

As Spain's 4th largest, it has plenty to do, to see and to enjoy including good beaches, great weather, excellent food and drink, sporting and social activities, good transport links and much more. Above all, Valencia is also extremely affordable making it the ideal location to relocate to and work from.
