Looking for a talented WiFi?? Infrastructure?? Engineer to support a digitally focused central Government department (OUTSIDE IR35)Reporting to the Wireless Network Architect, the WiFi Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for day to day wireless network operations / management / maintenance.
The successful candidate will be a core member of a team responsible for in-sourcing wireless support of a large single Government network
A thorough understanding and evidence of hands-on experience in large Aruba controller-based environments is essential
Responsibilities:
- Day to day operation / maintenance of a large single building network;
- Delivery of timely responses / remediation to wireless network fault calls;
- Planning and implementation of minor network changes / upgrades / optimisation;
- Development / Operation of routine wireless system processes and procedures (e.g. backups, upgrades)
- Wireless network modelling and analysis, using Ekahau network planning / surveying equipment;
- Understanding and supporting DHCP/DNS/RADIUS implementations in a wireless environment;
- Operation and management of Juniper SRX Series Services Gateways;
- Production of operational support documentation
Qualifications:
- Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP) standard or qualified by experience
- Significant experience of design / build / operation of Aruba Mobility Controllers and associated APs;
- In-depth familiarity with Aruba AirWave Management Station deployment / operation / maintenance;
- Familiarity with Cisco Meraki Aps/Switches and other Wi-Fi vendors is also desirable
- Working knowledge of the operation and management of Juniper SRX Series Service Gateways;
- Working knowledge of 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/WLAN design and 802.11 x protocols
- Understanding of 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz RF, with the ability to assess exciting architectures and situations and make recommendations
- Experience with Cisco Access Switches and LAN / WAN configurations
