Description
The Controls and Instrumentation (C&I) Technician will be Embedded within the Engineering team and will report to the Support Group Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Perform controls, instrument and electrical maintenance and project work within all the business units on site
- Plan, organise and control works assigned to him/her by a supervisor or senior engineer
- Working within a production orientated environment to Good Manufacturing Practice for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers' (GMP)
- Maintaining the balance of completing maintenance and repairs with the minimum disruption whilst working safely to current legislation and guidance
- Ensuring communication and engagement with internal customers and key stakeholders
- Fault finding and repairing/replacing/configuring control systems, components and instrumentation
- Supporting Validation activates related to process control systems
- A hands on' role, working within the central maintenance support group and reporting to the Support Group Engineer.
- Day to day duties will include servicing, maintenance, and repair of the following items of plant and equipment:
- Programmable logic controllers
- SCADA systems
- Electrical panels and switchgear
- BMS/TREND
- Inverter speed controllers
- Heating ventilation and air-conditioning Instrumentation and control
- Refrigeration plant
- Actuated valves
- Electrical controls and switchgear
- Electro-pneumatic controls
- AC and DC machines
- Instrumentation including temperature, pressure, flow, relative humidity, pH, dissolved oxygen and conductivity
- Design and construction of control panels
- Electrical based qualification and/or experience
- Knowledge and understanding of the Institute of Electrical Engineers current regulations for electrical installations
- Knowledge of MS Office and Windows - previous experience and good knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential
- Previous experience of working within a GMP environment would be advantageous
