EUC/App-V Tech Lead - Glasgow
An experienced End User Computing/App-V Technical Consultant/Technical Lead is sought for a 6-month contract opportunity based in Glasgow with a leading international company. This role is part of several ongoing projects to upgrade the company's global infrastructure and this App-V Specialist is a key hire driving several high-profile greenfield projects.
Essential skills and experience:
- Previous experience of implementing App-V into a greenfield site; design, implementation, support and appropriate technical documentation
- Demonstrable expertise in many areas of infrastructure and applications with a focus on App-V Infrastructure and Sequencing
- Experience with application deployment methods
- Expert knowledge of End User Computing (EUC) technologies; VDI/Citrix/Microsoft AppV
- Experience with performance, sizing and high availability of EUC environments
- Strong working knowledge of Windows 7 & 10, Group Policies, SQL Server 2012, Active Directory, App-V 5 Infrastructure, App-V 5 Sequencing, PowerShell and Office365
- In touch with developments in appropriate new technologies/services and participate in the investigation/assessment of suitability into a variety of environments
Core role and responsibilities:
- Key role in the build, development and continuous improvement of:
- App V 5 Infrastructure and App V 5 Sequencing
- Windows 10
- Delivery of applications through App-V, SCCM and Citrix
- Participation of investigation in suitable new technologies/services for use in company's environment to meet a variety of business needs
- Production of a variety of technical documentation and ensure that documented standards and work practices are followed
