Description
For an international E-commerce organisation we are looking for a Kubernetes engineer to join a new team that will help them transition to a Kubernetes based platform. As part of this team you are responsible for developing the technical solution and help bring their stack onto this platform.
Responsibilities
* Join the team that will design, build and maintain a set of Kubernetes clusters in multiple geographies
* Collaborate with existing technology teams to ensure our Kubernetes clusters are highly available, secure and meet the needs of our users
* Provide on call support process for third line escalations
Core Skills
* Experience with deploying Kubernetes Clusters on bare metal or virtualized infrastructure or Public Cloud
* Experience of monitoring, troubleshooting, scaling production Kubernetes workloads
* Knowledge of designing and adapting software to be twelve factor compliant applications
* Strong understanding of Container technologies like Docker
* Knowledge of deployment tooling like Terraform or similar infrastructure as code solutions
* Ability to script in one or more Scripting languages like Python or Go(lang)
* Linux fundamentals
* Experience in On Call support for mission critical systems
Desirable Skills:
* Understanding of overlay networks, and experience with Flannel, Calico or similar
* Understanding of Software defined networking, BGP, VlANs, network architecture and load balancing
* OpenStack, Google Cloud Platform, GKE, ECS, Contrail
