Unix and Storage Technical Support Specialist

Description:
My client looking for a candidate to provide deep technical support for Servers running Redhat Enterprise Linux 6/7, HPUX and 3PAR storage arrays. The successful candidate will be required to be part of a shared service team providing service to a number of customers. As part of this team the candidate will require to become part of an on-call roster and to be available to work afterhours.

Key responsibilities are:
*To deliver a support service in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
*This will encompass:
oIncident resolution,
oProblem determination,
oRoot cause analysis.
*To contribute to and develop the expertise of the team and to share it with the other support teams
*To take part in projects linked to Service Quality Improvement and Business growth.
*To represent the Unix and Storage team and be one of the main linkage with other teams and Service Providers.

Qualification:
*Redhat/HPUX troubleshooting methodology: Certification an advantage
*Experience supporting Storage Arrays and SAN Switches
*Strong technical knowledge in:
oPerformance monitoring tools,
oUnix/Linux Server administration,
oServer architecture including HP Blade systems and interconnects,
oLinux Server installation and configuration,
oScripting - Shell, Perl, Python
oSCSI and Storage technology - Good theory & hands on knowledge;
oNetworking - TCP/IP
oManaging discs and logical partitions
oRedhat Cluster Services/Serviceguard
oHadoop Data analytics administration
oStorage array and SAN switch management - upgrades, reporting, analysing performance issues
*Knowledge/Experience in any of the following areas would be an advantage:
oNetworking
o3PAR Peer Persistence
oVmware SRM failover
oHP Blade Enclosures
*Excellent communication skill: Oral and written - English
*Customer and service orientation
*Ability to operate well in an international environment
*ITSM knowledge
*Bachelor's or undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
*Certifications such as Redhat, HPUX, HPE Storage, Hadooop, Cisco or similar certifications would be preferred.
*Extensive previous Tech Support experience.
*Must possess very good experience with various computer peripherals and applications.
*Must possess very strong problem solving and resolution experience.
*Must be very customer oriented and focused on meeting the customer's needs.
*Must have very good verbal and written communication skills in English.
*Experience in telephone and/or hands-on application, desktop, network and/or database support of both internal and external customers.
*Experience in installation and configuration of PCs, Servers, hardware, software, etc.
*Desirable experience in project delivery.
*Leadership qualities: Integrity, attention to detail, timeline sensitive, goal oriented.
