Synergis is looking for a Windows Systems Patching Engineer.

Windows Systems Patching Engineer Responsibilities:

Patching Subject Matter Expert for Windows Server OS that includes: security patching, updates, firmware

Development of a scalable, enterprise patching solution and process to ensure compliance with enterprise security requirements and industry best practices

Design, develop and implement infrastructure and automation solutions

Automate and orchestrate delivery of infrastructure solutions built within the datacenters

Contribute code to multiple automation projects

Utilize engineering and programming skills focused on enabling a DevOps model

Streamline deployment of infrastructure into consumable services

Provide input on the future implementation of infrastructure with a strong emphasis on automation, security, scalability and resiliency

Install, configure, update and maintain operating systems, corresponding software, and datacenter Servers for a large location/business unit.

Proactively monitor capacity of environments to predict future storage, memory, or processor shotfalls. Supervise and/or perform efficient and timely preventive and corrective maintenance of Servers. Identify project resources and scheduling.

Provide Level 3 diagnosis/troubleshooting to resolve incidents.

Back up Servers and maintain daily records of the backups.

Maintain control of physical inventory and equipment (Servers).

Provide guidance to less-experienced technical administrators.

Proactively monitor capacity of environments to predict future storage, memory, or processor shortfalls.

Supervise and/or perform efficient and timely preventive and corrective maintenance of Servers.

Identify project resources and scheduling.

Windows Systems Patching Engineer Qualifications and Experience:

Windows Server and Microsoft Client Products

Active Directory

Hyper-V Hypervisor and Failover Clustering

VMM 2012+

SCCM 2012+

WSUS

Windows Server Cluster Aware Updating

Solid understanding and use of PowerShell

Solid understanding of Client Server, networking, and Internet technologies fundamentals

5 or more year's industry experience with Microsoft products, effective learning skills, works well in a team environment, strong problem-solving skills

College degree, preferably in Computer Science, is required

MCSE is strongly preferred

Will consider related field (or equivalent) experience.

Enterprise level experience in security patch life cycle and management.

Must have sufficient technical depth to communicate with development and other internal organizations at a peer level.

Must possess the ability to work independently with minimal management supervision.

Ability to enhance the technical expertise of peers via the development of product training and team content development.

Ability to apply technology to improve existing products and systems.

Ability to actively participate in team support by proposing and implementing solutions.
