Senior DevOps Engineer - AWS/Kubernetes
As a part of our DevOps team, you'll wear many hats; you'll drive cultural and technological change for our customers UK wide.
Hiring for core members of our consulting team means you will help shape and reinvent our clients DevOps landscape - this takes individuals who can lead and influence.
We embrace challenges and work together to solve highly complex problems facing the worlds largest organisations, our projects are not the faint hearted.
On the back of our success, we have been entrusted to support the demand and production of several platforms within an FTSE100 organisation.
Project focus will be on the following areas:
- Monoliths to Microservices
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and Azure)
- Designing an architecture in containers (Kubernetes)
- Introducing Cloud Security
- Designing CI/CD pipelines
- Compliance as Code
Project responsibilities include:
- Ensuring security acceptance and support for production via DevSecOps practices
- Defining & codifying key patterns and practices for consumption by consumer/pathfinder teams
- Providing training and support to upskill Engineers
- Setting up & codifying AWS config to deploy/provision in a repeatable manner
Skill sets such as these are not in abundance and there will significant learning on the job which is part of our ethos and Contino endeavour to assist in the training of all consultants.
What we look for:
- Experience and deep understanding working within a DevOps environment, able to communicate on what DevOps is, and how it has progressed over time.
- Solid technical background/understanding in DevOps, Software Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering so that you're able to understand high-level technical briefs, talks and ideas.
- Experience of the full software delivery life cycle.
- Experience with Linux, Scripting, automation, cloud, monitoring etc.
- Building CI/CD pipelines.
- A keen interest in technology.
- A good attitude and mindset.
- Keen interest in other methods of working such as Agile.

We're advocates of using the best tools for the job but retaining an open mind. We're passionate technologists with a love for anything bleeding-edge. At the moment we are pretty agnostic on various projects but regularly use technologies within the container space (Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift), Configuration management (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt), Cloud (Azure, AWS, Google), Linux, Windows and all of the Hashicorp stack.
