Description

DAB Build Engineer required to join Tier 1 Operator.

Role:

  • To work with teams in managing and scheduling changes to live and test EPGs and DABs.
  • Carry out/manage changes to various components within EPG/DAB mainly out of hours.
  • Tracking changes in a form of version control/configuration management, and maintaining that data.
  • Create and follow/adapt process for above tasks

Highlight specific responsibilities

  • Work with the DAB build team in the above activities.
  • Modification of processes relating to build/manage activities, including version control/configuration management if required.
  • Police control mechanisms for above processes.
  • Work with vendors and internal staff in all aspects of EPG/DAB change
  • Utilise and manage resource as necessary to carry out duties.

Essential Skills:

  • Very good knowledge of TCP/IP and associated protocols, including NAT/PAT, DNS and VRFs, specifically in Cisco router/switch and F5 load balancer products
  • Good working knowledge of Crossbeam, Checkpoint and Cisco ASA firewalls
  • Broad Unix skills, in either Solaris or Linux, specifically in Sun and Dell environments.
  • Basic understanding of Radius protocol and its use in IP address allocation process
  • Basic understanding of VM Ware ESX configuration
  • Basic understanding of NetApp admin and support tasks
  • Excellent documentation recording and policing skills
  • Be self-motivated
  • Be prepared to work out of hours (esp. weekends) and on call, when required
