Storekeeper

3 month initial contract opportunity with possible extension for the right candidate

Key information:

The job holder is, as are all employees, responsible for ensuring that all legal requirements and GE policies and procedures relating to health, safety, environment and quality are rigorously applied within his/her group and will also ensure that all contractors comply with these policies and procedures whilst on our sites.

This post reports to the Lead Hand and is an office and outdoors based position.

The role is to support the team with loading and offloading equipment safely, adhering to GE procedures and policies and according to current legislation.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Working in a team environment.
  • Shipping equipment safely to Customer.
  • Movement of equipment within Yard and into/out of shop.
  • Offloading equipment safely and to designated location.
  • Completion of relevant paperwork, Delivery Notes etc.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of equipment in the Yard to ensure parts are protected from damage.
  • Assisting with location auditing in the Yard & Stores.
  • Assisting with equipment identification.
  • Prioritising work load due to changing demands at short notice.
  • Keen on improving existing processes and making department more efficient.
  • EHS participation in key goals of the business.
  • Recording of material traceability.

Qualification/Requirements:

  • EHS understanding and practical knowledge (High level of HSE awareness to include environmental control on oils and fluids within the site).
  • FLT (Forklift Truck) certification from 3t up to 15t inclusive.
  • Rigging and lifting certification.
  • Manual Handling.
  • Shipping knowledge and understanding of UKOOA guidelines.
  • PC skills including Microsoft Outlook (e-mail) and Excel and ERP System (AS400, Oracle).
  • Strong/prompt communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Oil & Gas equipment.
  • Experience working in Stores/Yard function.
