For one of our clients we are looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer
Key Performance Indicators/Key respon-sibilities and deliverables:
- Development and operations of Cloud Platform components
- Provide value-added services for cloud platform in the area of application orchestration, Platform-as-a-Service (PAAS) components and application life cycle management
- Cloud platform DevOps: Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
- Budget responsibility: No
Detailed job description, responsibilities:
- Provides value-added services, like eg Application Orchestration, maintained operating systems, DBaaS, DNSaaS, etc.
- Accountable for the set-up, management, support and termination of the tool/platform-service
- Incident-(2nd level) problem-, change- and license management
- DevOps Tools integration (Jenkins, Git, Gerrit, etc)
- System Admin of the respective tool/platform-service
- Accountable for integration of tool/platform-service
- Accountable for acceptance of tool/platform-service
- Close interaction with other Sub-roles of the platform (eg SLA, architecture)
- KPI-Definition and monitoring of related tool/platform-service
- Responsible for planning, implementation, development and testing of HW/SW components of the cloud patform
- Responsible for communication with 3rd parties/vendors during tendering process or during definition of cloud platform requirements.
- Preparing and adapting of PaaS service catalogue, templates and application models
- Monitoring/tracking performance of systems, dimensioning, and capacity planning with respect to future needs
- Responsible for preparation and administration of the techn. Documentation
Skills, capabilities:
Education:
- University degree in Technical area (Computer Science, Tele-communication Engineering, Information Systems or related field)
Professional knowledge, skills, know-how in the field & experience in the field:
- More than 3 years experience in area of cloud platforms design and testing, competence focus in the areas of application orchestration, platform-as-a-service or DevOps tools
Language skills:
- English language - fluent (excellent verbal and written communication skills)
Hard skills:
- Excellent understanding of at least one of the following cloud platform domains
- Platform-as-a-Service components, eg DNS, DHCP, Databases, Loadbalancer, maintained operating systems/Ubuntu.
- Application Orchestration, eg open source solutions (OSM, cloud-ify, tacker), commercial solutions, modelling frameworks (HEAT, Tosca)
- Cloud platform DevOps tools, eg Jenkins, Chef, Puppet, Git, Ger-rit, Ansible
Good general understanding of cloud platform architectures:
- Compute, Network and Storage Infrastructure
- Cloud OS, Operation SW and Hypervisors
- IP Services
- Public/Private Cloud Architectures
- SDN, CEPH
- CI/CD processes and tools (eg Jenkins, Chef, Puppet, Git, Ansible etc.)
- Knowledge of network hardware, TCP/IP, routing, switching, net-work security
