Description

Energy sector regulation and cyber security experience essential

and understanding of the Network and information Systems (NIS Directive) from the European Parliament

In the energy Sector, the Cyber Assessment Framework will be used to assess compliance for OES who are in scope of NIS, except for those aspects of OES services which fall within the scope of the requirements laid out in the Smart Energy Code (SEC).

The clients policy position is that for those aspects of business area which fall within scope of NIS, compliance with the relevant security provisions of the Smart Energy Code (Section G, SEC) and Suppliers licences as being sufficient for compliance with regulation 10 of NIS. Ofgem are currently minded to adopt this position too.

To support the policy position, we require a review to be carried out against the requirements of the NIS directive to assess whether the current obligations in Section G of the SEC are appropriate to meet the NIS requirements, and if not, what changes to Section G would be required.

The chosen supplier will need to review the key aspects of the NIS Directive (Regulation 10), the SEC (Section G) and the Supply License (46A Electricity & 40A Gas) to identify any potential gaps in compliance coverage.

In addition, the client also requires a review of the CAF to assess any key areas it contains that aren't already covered within the scope of the SEC Section G obligations.
