Description

My Client is a Leading Swiss Consulting & IT Service provider with an enviable market reputation. Due to some internal growth, they are currently seeking a Head of Platform Engineering on a permanent basis to be based in either Bern, Basel or Zurich.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Development & management of the Platform Engineering team
  • Advice to customers about the optimal use of new platform technologies
  • Conception & implementation in the field of platform engineering on customer projects in the private, public and hybrid cloud environment
  • Further development in the area of Platform Engineering (Cloud, Automation, Devops, Site Reliability Engineering)
  • Further development of prototypes and showcases with the latest platform technologies


The successful incumbent will possess at least 10 years of professional experience in software development or platform engineering and at least 3 years of experience leading a small team of developers or engineers. Experience in design, development and / or administration of distributed systems. Experience with at least 1 public cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP) optimally supported by appropriate certifications. Experience with container technologies (especiallu Docker and Kubernetes, optimally OpenShift). Exerience with CI / CD tools (eg Jenkins, Spinnaker, TeamCity, Travis CI, Octopus, AWS Developer Tools, Azure DevOps). Experience in dealing with infrastructure as code, experience in IT automation amnd configuration management technologies and experience with tools for performance and / or security monitoring. Excellent experience with integration technologies and API management. German langugage skills are essential.
