Cloud Network Architect - 30 Week Contract
Inside IR35 (Public Sector Client) - £550 - £600 per day.
Our Public Sector client in London are looking for a Cloud Network Architect to join their team on an initial 30 week contract term.
Responsibilities:
Working alongside other technical Architects and closely with Infrastructure engineers you will support delivery of the IT network architecture vision for our client - both on-premise and in the cloud.
In this role a cross-functional background with excellent networking, infrastructure and applications knowledge is vital. As well as working with key internal technical staff you will identify and manage delivery of the on-premise network refresh and Azure network refactoring.
Key responsibilities include:
- Thoroughly documenting the Azure Network Refactoring exercise - HLD (Architecture) and LLD (Design).
- Preparing life cycle management documentation for the Azure Network.
- Educating the Operations Team on the architecture and design of the Azure Network.
- Working with the supplier for the on-premises Network Refresh project to ensure smooth implementation, thorough documentation is supplied by them and training is delivered to the correct standard.
Other responsibilities include:
- Promoting high quality networking architectures that meet internal and external customer requirements and are consistent with the clients Digital Strategy principles and Enterprise Architecture standards
- Ensuring the performance, availability, scalability, agility of and connectivity to new client cloud solutions and to client trusted peer organizations, stakeholders and clients are maintained through these transitions.
- Supporting the development of Digital; strategy, frameworks, best practice, and patterns
- Working closely with other Architects (Business, Data, Information, Digital and Solution) to ensure that the organisations ongoing Digital Transformation remains at the forefront of public sector digital development.
- Technical Architecture. Translate requirements into a technical design with an eye toward leveraging existing tools, services and frameworks but equally ensuring that the tools and services used within the infrastructure and networking environment are up to date, optimally configured and secure.
Required Experience
- Significant professional technology architecture experience delivering network infrastructure solutions in an enterprise environment, including VPN, Firewalls, LAN/WAN concepts.
- Practical experience of:
- Cisco DNA implementation.
- Azure Networking Technologies.
- FortiGate Firewalls.
- Ability to design the architectures for integrating core networking infrastructure technologies in support of enterprise applications and cloud workloads.
- Experience in cloud transformation projects in particular Office365/Azure.
- Understanding of Windows Server required (ideally including some exposure to Linux).
- Security principles in a government and/or security driven environment.
