Information Security Analyst

£450-£475 per day (Inside IR35 - rate to umbrella)

3 month initial contract

fully remote

Working with the Information Security & Risk Manager, this role is responsible for proactively monitoring, reviewing, and investigating information security risk across the business.

Working with the Information Security & Risk Manager, this role is responsible for proactively monitoring, reviewing, and investigating information security risk across the business.

You will monitor computer networks for security issues, install security software, and document any security issues or breaches found.

  • Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including Firewalls and data encryption programs
  • Assess damage of any security breaches
  • Perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities
  • Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard
  • Help develop and implement company-wide best practices for IT security
  • Perform penetration testing
  • Help colleagues install security software and understand information security management
  • Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management
  • Stay up-to-date on information technology trends and security standards

Essential:

  • Experience in information security or related field.
  • Experience with computer network penetration testing and techniques.
  • Understanding of Firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them.
  • Understanding of patch management with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner while understanding business impact.

Essential

  • Extensive knowledge of Information Security, IT Security or related experience
  • A strong technical understanding/background and prior knowledge of security frameworks and experience in the delivery and/or management of these
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to effectively engage with multiple stakeholders
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate assessment and management of risk
  • Critical thinker, with strong problem-solving skills

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 27001, ITIL, COBIT as well as those from NIST, including 800-53 and Cybersecurity Framework
