Job Title: Technical Solution Architect
Location: Remote/Oxford
Salary/Rate: £600 - £700 per day - Inside IR35

We have a fantastic new opportunity with a global Fortune500 consultancy for a Technical Solution Architect. They're looking for an individual to support one of their large end clients on an initial three-month contract. They want a Technical Solution Architect with broad (rather than specific SME) skills to work with the acquisition project manager to help AL with the design for the repeatable Technical Solution for the on-boarding of the small/medium acquired companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be able to evaluate the relatively straight forward existing user and infrastructure operating environment to document the position and understand any challenges for migration or operation for the AL environment.
  • The areas in scope for understanding are:
  • Infrastructure - Network provisioning and switching/Router setup (Including SDWAN or similar technologies if applicable) inc what equipment is end of life and existing support arrangements that need to be maintained or terminated.
  • Laptop/Desktop setup for the acquired users (Windows versions, 32/64bit versions, AD etc)
  • Remote connectivity setup in place - Citrix etc.
  • Telephony services in place and simple configuration - Hunt Groups etc
  • The role does NOT include migration of existing applications but data and the book of business migration is assumed to be part of the process which we will need to understand the scope.
  • Work with the network team to supply any new network requirements to Telecomms provider for SDWAN (if applicable) for the new office location and work with the network support team to add the new location for support. Circuits and circuit redundancy in place or need to be provisioned based on the office solution.
  • Cloud - work with the CIS cloud team to design or understand the Azure environment that the new users data will be migrated onto including working with the cloud support team in supporting the expanding environment.
  • Contact Centre - As above for the Genesys Contact Centre solution for support and any configuration changes required for the new office locations ontop of the existing core office infrastructure
  • Security - Work with the security SIEM to add the new location to the supported sites and that the existing DMZ is maintained
  • Ensure the connectivity method for new users to access the "Acturis" core system is understood and documented (inc Citrix connectivity for users in Ireland)
  • New User Setup - Provide the details to the CIS IT team for the new user setup (M365 setup - new mail box, add to existing AD etc) and any User training required
  • Setting up the process to ensure the ServiceNow SAM/HAM teams have the correct details to update the respective systems
  • Understand and document or design the BCP/DR solution for the new office to meet the specified SLA's.

Essential Skills

  • Technical solution architect with broad (rather than specific SME) skills to work with the acquisition project manager
  • Understanding of network components, Azure cloud, end-user computing

Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:

  • Good transition planning skills.
  • Strong teamwork skills and attention to detail.
