Description

For a client of ours we are looking for an E2E XGS-PON Connectivity Architect

Start: ASAP

Location: NL/UK

Duration: Long term project (3 months extensions)

Desired Skills and Experience

  • You are a proven technical leader and ready to drive key connectivity projects, taking on the coordination of a multi-vendor ecosystem.
  • You will have at least 5 years' experience as an Architect (E2E/Enterprise/Solution) within a Telco environment, overseeing national broadband launches servicing in both consumer and B2B markets with experience with wholesaling broadband services.
  • BSc degree level in a relevant area (Computer Science, Telecommunications, etc.)
  • You will have in-depth understanding of the technologies and platforms specific to a large cable and telecommunications operator, with in-depth knowledge and experience of HFC/DOCSIS & XGS-PON based networks.
  • You will have previously defined architecture for deploying xDSL or PON based networks with in-depth knowledge of TR-101 and TR-156 reference modules.
  • You should have experience and knowledge of all BackOffice components, protocols and best practices with deploying broadband services. Expert knowledge is needed in defining IPoE call flow and awareness of BackOffice component such as DNS, DHCP (CNR), Radius, BNG, ACS.
  • In-depth understanding of TR-104, TR-69/TR-369, WebPA, TR-181 modelling, AAA, OpenSync, MQTT/OVSDB, SNMPv3, YANG, IPv4/IPv6 allocation and PCRF/PCEF concept is highly desirable.
  • You will have strong IT, Systems, CPE, IoT and Network Architecture pedigree, with specific experience with Telco Back End systems and associated protocols with the ability to define Microservices and API contracts between BackOffice cloud-based systems
  • Knowledge of industry standards & architecture frameworks as TAM, eTOM, SID, TOGAF, SOA, Web 2.0
  • In-depth experience of Cloud technologies with experience of defining architecture within AWS and/or GCP environments, where resilience, running costs, monitoring and security are all specified.

You will have great communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to:

  • Articulate medium to long-term strategic roadmaps to Execs,
  • Present directional steers/HLAs to Product owners, fulfilling their requirements
  • Maintain peer relationships with other Architects/SMEs, allowing for data gathering and alignment when developing e2e Architecture

You are based in NL/UK and willing to travel across European affiliated operating company

Which deliverables will you work on?

  • Your role will be to provide enterprise level architecture and direction on defining e2e architecture needed to deploy XGS-PON access capability to homes and business throughout Europe.
  • Unique opportunity to join our client on the journey to help redefining their strategy and architecture for next generation Fibre access to all homes and businesses.
  • As the successful applicant you will have the opportunity to be involved in the complete ecosystem, needed for any next generation broadband service. You will be involved in defining a central Pan-European blueprint architecture and BackOffice components which will then be deployed through all of the company's OpCos.
  • You will help define the RG/ONU functionality, ensuring interoperability with selected ODN/OLT access network and connectivity onto the BNG.
  • Your architecture will also define agreed e2e calls flows and provisioning processes needed to provide IP, VOIP and video streaming services over the XGS-PON access layer.
  • You will also be responsible in investigating and selecting the strategic BackOffice components needed to operate FTTP service.
