Description

The SDN Design & Integration Engineer will join the Transport team and focus on Nuage SDN and DC-Fabric (Transport) design and integration activities, related to both Telco and IT Cloud solutions and will work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of the key elements.

The scope of activities for the Design & Validation Engineer within the Nuage SDN & IP Transport domain are as follows.

1. Participate in the detailed design (Low level design) preparation & updates covering the configuration required for the deployment of these platforms.
2. Build understanding of the Service Layer design, learning the service constructs needed by the VMWare or CBIS layer and PNF connections connecting to the SDN infrastructure, and connecting IT Cloud, Telco Cloud, Public Cloud and Core Business environments.
3. Support the implementation of Overlay designs within SDN infrastructure for both the Telco and IT Cloud across the different environments.
4. Support the integration activity across IT & Telco Cloud and interconnecting with Core Business and OOS applications in Public Cloud from an SDN Nuage and DC Fabric perspective. 6. Supports troubleshooting activity where necessary, across implementation, integration and Testing phases for SDN Nuage and DC Fabric components
5. Works with peers in the other domains within both the Telco and IT Cloud solution to maintain the integrity & the consistency of the solution over the whole project cycle

Skills & Experience
* Networking Engineering with good experience in designing or/and implementing IP/MPLS networks.
* Strong Linux/Unix Shell and datacentre networking knowledge
* Excellent configuring and/or designing networking equipment in datacentres/carrier networks
* Experience with carrier networking protocols IP/ETH, BGP
* Knowledge of Nokia IP Router portfolio 7x50 XRS/SR/ESS
* VMWare ESXi, KVM, Xen, Hyper-V. RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu, Linux Containers
* Experience deploying VMWare, OpenStack is an advantage
* Experience of SDN and NFV concepts & technologies is an advantage
* Good business understanding in vendor or/and operator/service provider environment.
* Clearly communicate (verbal and written) in English.
* Comfortable to meet and discuss solutions/technology and technical escalation with both Nokia and customer senior management.
* Able to work independently and in a team.
* Able to manage activities under high pressure and critical deadlines.
* Able to handle several important tasks at the same time.
* Able to look at different factors and prioritize tasks.
