Design Engineer
Ashford, Kent (onsite)
£35 per hour
6 month contract


Job Specification
Here at Qinetiq, we are in need of a Design Engineer to support the final design release stages of a new Aerial Target.

The skills we are specifically looking for are:

  • Sound knowledge of composites structures
  • Sound knowledge of aerodynamic loading
  • Experience using SolidWorks (3D and 2D), with surfacing, non-linear FEA (essential) and routing (preferable)
  • Experience of OpenFoam a bonus, especially requirements for model preparation and meshing

Educational/Experience requirements:

  • Ideally, you will have an undergraduate degree in Mechanical/Aviation Engineering
  • You will have experience in product life-cycles, seeing a project through from concept to design and creation.
