Description
Role: Test Engineer
Location: Headquarters in Southampton but ability to work remotely
Duration of post if applicable: 3 months
IR35 Status: In scope
Detailed services to be provided (specifically, the deliverables and if appropriate, specification):
- Devising and implementing scenarios & tests at the right level (unit, integration etc.) against the right component (library, implementation of library, component, system) for new functionality
- Work with developers in assessing right level of testing for new functionality on libraries used by other team members
- In collaboration with senior engineer, implementing tests and reviewing the existing test frameworks in existing areas to bolster coverage
- Play an active role in code reviews and pull requests for new functionality alongside the dev team
- Integrating all work into existing CI/CD pipelines, as well as creating new pipelines as needed
Experience:
- Proven analytical skills, designing and implementing tests for functional and non-functional test activities
- Experience in working with and testing data transformations and/or big data testing
- Experience of designing and implementing tests around TDD/BDD
- Working in an agile team
- Building and maintaining of test frameworks in CI/CD environments
- Experience in consideration and implementation of non-functional testing

Technologies:
- Proven skills in Scala (preferred), C# or Python are essential
- Experience of working with Azure DevOps is essential
- Experience of testing on a cloud platform is essential, preferably Azure
- Experience of using Data technologies
- Experience of Apache Spark desirable
- Experience of PowerShell desirable
- Awareness of geospatial systems and technologies is desirable
