Description
We are looking for an Senior SQL DBA for a 12+ month contract in Amsterdam, Netherlands
Some key aspects of the role are:
- Maintain MSSQL databases in a cluster configuration
- troubleshooting all database related issues
- Work pro-actively on structural improvements and improving database security
- Support program with ad hoc queries to execute on database
- Build and maintain PowerShell scripts
- Support and analyse performance testing.
- Create and maintain usergroups within SQL
- Troubleshooting and Identify security breaches
- Set up new MSSQL instances/databases
- Testing new Servers and configure clusters
- Support in creating authorisation matrixes
- Set up/maintain security Matrix together with supplier
- Stand by shifts
- Patching MSSQL Servers
Relevant knowledge, skills, competences & desired education level
- 8+ years' experience with databases in a complex environment as Senior SQL DBA
- MS SQL Certification for sqlserver2012 or higher
- Experience with windows clustering and MSSQL Availability Groups
- Experience with SSIS, SSRS and SSAS
- Experience POWERSHELL Scripting
- Experience setting up maintenance and backup jobs
- Experience with using monitoring tools (example ITM, AppDynamics AZURE SQL insights)
- Experience with solving performance problems
- Experience with migrating databases from on prem to AZURE
- Experience with using Datamodelling tools (example ERWIN)
- Experience with migrating Oracle database to MSSQL for example using SSMA "SQL Server Migration Assistant"
- Willing to follow courses
- Willingness to work/Be on call outside business hours
- Knowledge of hardware and software; (bare metal systems and VM-ware systems)
- Knowledge of various network environments.
- Knowledge of and experience with Windows (knowledge of Linux is a pre)
- Being able to work in a planned, systematic and independent manner.
- Able to work in a high demand organisation with a lot of shifting in priorities.
