Description
Technical Architect required to work with a Government department. This is an initial 6 month contract, paying £650 per day, inside IR35, remote until further notice (offices based in London)
You will be SC Cleared or eligible for SC clearance
Responsibilities:
*Developing procurement-ready technical requirements from user requirements
*Providing technical inputs to the procurement process, including supplier engagement and bid evaluation
*Working with suppliers to resolve technical issues, including those arising during test, integration and trials.
*Working with users to ensure that the solution delivered meets their needs.
*Review of supplier design documentation, challenging suppliers where products fall below the expected standard and arbitrating on cross supplier issues.
*Management of technical aspects of change, assessing the merits and impact of change requests and making recommendations to the change steering group.
*Provide technical leadership for a particular technology area, eg LTE devices and operating systems, control rooms, IP Networking, enterprise mobility, network security
Essential criteria
*Technical experience in the field of mobile communications technology
*Experience of working in one of the following areas: Technical architecture; or Systems Engineering role in the delivery of a complex telecommunications programme or project.
*Experience of analysing and solving complex technical problems
Desirable criteria
*Understanding of formal project management techniques
*Detailed knowledge of LTE Devices and Core Services.
*An understanding of cyber security in a telecoms/mobile context
*Experience in optimising performance of complex ICT or telecommunications systems.
*Experience of telecommunications standards; whether through implementation of standards, or working with Standards Groups such as 3GPP or ETSI.
*Experience of working with industry to identify future technology solutions that meet the user need.
*Experience of providing technical leadership within complex technology projects, with accountability to multiple contributors and stakeholders.
