Senior IT Technician
Type: 3 month Contract
Rate: £15 - £18.50 Umbrella
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
My client is looking for a Senior IT Technician to help develop current IT Systems, adopting new innovative technologies to ensure future technical sustainability and to lead, support and develop the IM&T Technical Staff.
Your responsibilities will include:
. Be the Technical Lead for Infrastructure, Networks and Services throughout the business
. Be responsible for IM&T problems, ensuring where possible that all IT Infrastructure, Networks and Service faults/queries are rectified within an appropriate timescale.
. Escalate IM&T issues to the IM&T Manager
. Liaise with third party IM&T Maintenance Contractors to ensure resources can be made available to minimise Risk and Downtime
. Guide, plan, develop, maintain, support and integrate new IT software solutions
. Scope out technical elements of IT Projects
. Manage critical IT systems including, but not limited to: email messaging and collaboration services, directory services, anti-virus, anti-spam, Proxy, Internet services, backup, file, print and database services
. Develop and implement new and innovative technologies
Experience and Skills required:
. Microsoft Server Environment both on-premise and Cloud based
. Cisco core Network infrastructure
. Data integrity by planning, implementing, and testing extensive backup and disaster recovery procedures using recognised best practices and technologies
. Security of the corporate network by managing system updates and ensuring network and server devices conform to IT security standards
. Regular monitoring of system and network performance
. Experience with physical hardware and software licensing
