Network Automation Support Engineer - 6 months - £525.00 per day
Our client has an urgent need for a Network Automation Support Engineer to join them on an initial 6-month contract basis on a remote basis (which may be reviewed, but will still remain very flexible maybe one or two days in office per month (London area).
The Network Automation Support Engineer will be required to provide ongoing (Data Centre) support, management and automation of their network management server infrastructure that will cover functions such as Fault Management, Event Correlation, Device Inventory, Stats Collection, and Network Telemetry.
For this position it is essential that candidates have experience working in large-scale global service provider environments with Linux, ESX, Kubernetes, and KVM platforms.
Areas of Responsibility:-
- Support Kubernettes based container deployment and management systems
- Support and maintain hardware virtualization platforms including ESXi, LXC, and KVM
- Manage and support LXC and KVM environment using Proxmox
- Support NMS applications providing services for client Network Products
- (Together in a team) manage server and application infrastructure across the business
- Help make improvements to existing server infrastructure and automation environment
- Provide support and management of NMS applications and server infrastructure
Skills/Experience Required:-
- Experience of operating/supporting K8s or K3s platform in a highly automated environment
- Experience of network software support experience with any of Perl, JavaScript, CGI, Python, Shell, Ruby, JSON, in a large, distributed Linux environment
- Knowledge of common Internet protocols such as IPv4, IPv6, ARP, NDP, TCP, UDP and higher-level protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, SSH, etc.
- Good knowledge of networking concepts & data center technologies with focus on monitoring and troubleshooting
- Basic knowledge of Puppet, Ansible, or Chef platforms
- Familiarity with SVN or Git source code control systems
- Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems/Network Software or relevant qualification
