Systems Architect - Automotive Domain
Our client, a global supplier for IT services, requires experienced Systems Architects to join their team in their clients' office in Gaydon, Nr Coventry, Warwickshire.
This is a 24 month temporary contract (with possibilty to extend), to start on 15th October.
The right candidate should have minimum 3 years of relevant experience in System architecture.
Role Purpose:
System Architect within the Software Group in Electrical Engineering department.
This is a critical for delivering new products and programs across multiple present and future software projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Incorporate customer use cases into a functional architecture model using SysML (implementation agnostic)
- Assess design impact of introducing a new feature/technology using functional architecture models (implementation agnostic)
- Develop and maintain functional architecture models at feature level (LAD, Logical Architecture Diagrams) and link to the full functional vehicle architecture model
- Support the allocation of functional architecture models (LADs) into system architecture design (SAD)
- Support System Engineers to develop requirements at System Logical & Physical levels (SRD/SAAD)
- Support System Integration and Test Engineers to define test plans and test cases for virtual and physical environments
- Support in the completion of the interface failure analysis
- Creation of the API's between Use Case Owners for functions outside of the direct model
Key Requirements:
Essential:
- Minimum 7 years in total experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in System Architecture
- Significant knowledge of systems architecture and associated technologies
- Significant experience of Software Development Life Cycle and associated processes
- Ability to think and optimise in system rather than component terms -so accept the "philosophy" of Systems Engineering
- Understand impact of business/technology constraints and opportunities and life cycle phases on system definition
- The ability to investigate the feasibility of solutions, using high-level system architecture, functional analysis and scenario modelling
- Work to ensure the system is robust in itself and robust to changes in requirements
- Use the systems approach -understand context, requirements and purpose of system to avoid unwanted emergence and hence the need for unwanted rework
- The elicitation, analysis, specification and validation of requirements and constraints to a level that enables effective development and operations of new or changed software, systems, processes, products and services
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Track record as an effective team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Client facing role and work with teams
Desirable:
- Experience in Automotive Engineering Delivery and in solving complex technical issues using a structured approach
- Experience in working with large teams delivering System Architecture and solutions
