EDS Geometric Engineer- Electrical Engineering
Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services requires EDS Geometric Engineers to be based in their client's office in Gaydon, Coventry UK.
This is a 2+ year temporary contract to start on 15th Oct 2021.
This role is for EDS Geometric Engineer within the Electrical Engineering Department. This is a critical role for delivering new products and programs across multiple present and future releases.
Key Responsibilities
- Create compatible package solutions for Electrical components around the vehicle to meet all electrical requirements
- Creation of Concept EDS 3D routing (Pre PS) to handover to Production supplier/IHE teams.
- Secure packaging sign off of new installations from all stakeholders
- Ensure all packaging solutions adhere to packaging design standards
- Creation and maintenance of electrical Design Solutions (DS's) for a given programme(s).
- Highlighting Geometrical incompatibilities involving Electrical components to component owners who are responsible to lead the resolution workstream eg AIMs, escalation mtgs, PR's etc.
- Assist Product owner in the population and maintenance of the Kanban tracker
- Scoring and status metric of CAD data progression using VEPS tool
- Responsible for EE module Grid compliancy for EDS to deliver cost and weight optimised harness designs.
- Support and resolve any arising package issues from virtual and physical prototype build events
- Create/provide all the required documentation/plans to support virtual builds, validation plans (PDP181, 5 step validation plan)
- Supports the delivery of the EDS commodity including geometry, cost, weight, quality and functional performance.
Key Requirements
Essential:
- 5+ years in total experience
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Good verbal and written communications
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Track record as an effective team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Certified Catia V5/V6
- TeamCentre Tce ) or Enovia user (3D Experience)
- EDS Harness design experience
- Knowledge of the Client Harness requirements and standards to ensure compatible and robust designs
- Harness construction, handling, and assembly knowledge along with manufacturing and installation requirements
- Client facing role, good communication skills, should work with teams.
- Negotiation skills
- Project Management
Desirable:
- Experience in Automotive Engineering Delivery and in solving complex technical issues using a structured approach
- Experience in working with large teams delivering verification and validation platform and services.
