Junior Devops Engineer
We are seeking a Junior Devops Engineer to join JP Morgan in London on an initial 6 months contract. To be considered you should have some experience with Ansible and worked within an Agile framework.
As a Junior Devops Engineer, you will join a dynamic agile team that owns and develops an internal cloud based platform which currently manages over 7000 active MariaDB database instances.
The product forms a crucial component of JP Morgan's industry leading development environment and faces an ever increasing demand as the technology organisation continues to grow and JP Morgan develops an increasingly diverse range of modern digital products.
The teams MariaDB product follows an API first ethos, to enable JP Morgan's thousands of engineers to create & manage their MariaDB instances via a variety of self-service methods, backed by an automation plane.
As a hands on Junior Devops Engineer, you will be responsible for helping support over 7000 database instances, deploying updated software components, performing RCA, update existing automation, as well as looking to fix recurring issues.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
- Proficient with using Ansible
- Understanding cloud, virtualization, APIs and networking
- Understanding or have experience with agile and lean philosophies
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills with clear communication
- Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals
- Experience of Prometheus is desirable
- Experience of working with MariaDB and/or MySQL is desirable
*You will be required to attend the office at least 3 days per week until further notice. You will also need your own laptop/PC when working from home as these are not provided.*
