Data Engineer - Technology & Media
3-6 Month Contract - UK, Remote
InterQuest are partnering a well-known technology media business and we are looking for a Data Engineer to join them on a freelance basis for initially 3-6 months. Our client is an award-winning company and partner some of the world's largest media brands.
The Data Engineer will own the creation, maintenance and delivery of the BI layer of the data platforms, to ensure our partner can access data from their data warehouse easily in a consistent manner in order to drive value from the data.
Responsibilities
- Involved in engineering ETL solutions for the delivery of BI and data warehousing projects
- Act as a the data specialist and subject matter expert in key areas of data warehouses and Business Intelligence layer for both batch and Real Time data consumption across different business units
- The Data Engineer will act as a technical interface between the team and stakeholders in the Data Technology team
- Play a significant role in contributing to end to end workflow processes from user request to design implementation UAT and roll out.
Experience
- Strong engineering skills, working with different stakeholders and translating business requirements into technical requirements for data engineering teams
- Working experience of data warehouse and BI modelling implementations eg -Kimball's modelling techniques for data marts
- Experience of Datamodelling for BI implementations needed for a variety of traditional and cloud based BI and reporting tools (SSAS Cubes, Qlikview, Qliksense, Tableau, Charito, Looker)
- Hands on experience using out of the box (eg SAS, SSIS etc) and familiarity with custom built ETL tools and frameworks
- You will be able to interpret and validate business needs and drive agile prototypes to establish feasibility
- Strong delivery focussed mindset with ability to manage multiple streams of requests
