We are looking for a Business Functional Analyst to work on a project for the European Commission in Belgium.
Responsibilities
- Analyze the existing systems and highlight areas of improvement
- Provide expert advice and assistance, technology watch, evaluation studies, architectural considerations, applicable standards, solution patterns and best practices regarding test strategy
- Provide quality plans, quality assessments, quality control tests, evaluations and service level agreements associated with information system infrastructure services or projects
- Elaborate functional and non-functional requirements and business case analysis related to the area of expertise
- Propose solutions by combining IT tools and business process refactoring or improvements based on an in-depth understanding of a specific business domain
- Enhance opportunities by identifying new software/service to be developed
- Document requirements, create functional specifications and prepare wireframes/flowcharts
- Manage the testing process and be responsible for User Acceptance Tests (UAT)
- Facilitate change and configuration management
- Monitor performance, discover variances and propose necessary actions.
- Validate the functionality of the end product according to the requirement specifications
Knowledge and skills
- MSc in Computer Science or relevant field
- 7 + years of experience in Business Analysis of IT Applications
- In-depth knowledge of BPR and BPMN
- SQL knowledge
- Good knowledge of Datamodelling techniques and tools
- Data analysis experience
- Experience in analysis and design of information systems
- Capability to write clear and structured technical documents
- Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, very good communication skills
- Proactive attitude, communicative (ie good listener) and customer oriented
- Team spirit, good interpersonal skills and ability to integrate in a multilingual and multicultural environment
