IT Deployment/Desktop Engineer required for a 6 month contract based on site near Pontypool, South Wales.
Working inside of IR35 for an NHS organisation you will be carrying out UPS replacements and configuration as well as being involved in BAU Desktop Support (2nd line).
Network/Server Cabinet Reviews: Review and documentation of network/server cabinet layout, ensuring equipment is powered correctly, racks are tidy and organised.Networking of UPS and other related equipment: Experience of networking UPS and associated devices. All switch configuration will be completed by the networks team so the level of experience required will be limited to an understanding of network settings on equipment, familiarity with subnetworks and ensuring the equipment is configured correctlyBasic understanding of 240V electrics: Ability to wire up various 240V connectors including commando plugs, IEC sockets to a high standard. Ensuring that equipment is appropriately powered so that outages do not occur including the installation of Automatic Transfer Switches where required. There will be NO working on live electricsAbility to relay technical information to other teams, primarily the network team where you will need an understanding of TCP/IP protocols to ensure the network team have the right information to configure/update Firewall rulesGood practical/DIY skills as the role will involve some assembly work within existing network/server cabinetsPhysically fit as the role will involve moving and installing heavy equipment and lots of walkingPerson must have the ability to travel to site with own vehicleFor this role you need to have previous experience within Desktop or Deployment work and be happy in a physical role where you will be lifting and putting together IT equipment. You will need to have your own vehicle for transport between sites (mileage paid)
This role is to start ASAP and will pay between £10 - £12.50 + HP PAYE or £11 - £15 Umbrella per hour (inside of IR35)
