Description

Badenoch + Clark is supporting an NHS Trust who is looking for a hard-working, adaptive individual to join as a Clinical Informatics Specialist for an initial 6 month period with potential for long term extensions. This position is responsible for providing frontline support, system expertise, consultation, training, problem solving, and issue resolution to clinician on software systems' used to directly and indirectly care for patients. In addition, this position collaborates with Medical, Nursing and Clinical Operations leadership to facilitate and coordinate optimal adoption and use of clinical systems.

To be considered for this role and must have a clinical background along with the following skills:

* The ability to handle multiple concurrent priorities in an NHS environment
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Achieves and maintains up-to date knowledge and proficiency in clinical applications
* Serves as a primary contact for clinical systems support related issues
* Learns and understands the operational workflows of the clinical areas for which providing primary support, and how the workflows integrate with the electronic medical record and other clinical systems
* Provides on-site end-user support for technical and workflow issues, new functionality implementation, and system upgrades for the electronic medical record and other clinical systems
* Evaluates basic inquiries to the functional operation of the system implementations and upgrades
* Participate in testing clinical applications for future releases as required
* The ability to work with and communicate with a diverse workforce in all levels of the organisation
* Provides system and process knowledge during scheduled and unscheduled downtime, to ensure downtime and recovery workflows are followed, and the system is working as designed after the downtime
* Provides guidance and assists the IT team in the support and maintenance of clinical application security and acts as a problem solver
* Clinical background essential (RN, Pharmacy, or other allied health professional or other clinical degree)

This role falls inside IR35 so will require a candidate to work through an Umbrella Company or PAYE. There is potential that this 6 month assignment could turn in to long term fixed term or permanent for the right candidate.
