Our client is currently seeking several experienced Technical Architect to work on a contract basis. Initially the contract will be 12 months in duration (OUTSIDE IR35) and will be based at their busy and secure sites in Berkshire
Due to the nature of our clients work, the role requires the successful applicant to hold security clearance either DV, SC Level or be will and able to undergo the Vetting process to achieve this.
Role Summary:
We are currently seeking an experienced Solution Architect to work on a number of high-profile projects for a major defence industry client.
Using a consultative, friendly and straightforward approach, you will be required to engage with our customers to understand their technical, operational and business requirements. You will then create innovative solutions, that deliver value to the customer.
You will have a broad range of experience, gained within an environment that handles data at the highest security classifications.
The role will encompass all aspects of the solution life cycle, from assisting the customer in the qualification of proposals, to scoping work effort, assisting project planning, producing design collateral, leading delivery, and transition to BAU.
You will have expert technical knowledge, confident in producing design documentation from the conceptual stage through to detailed build documentation, and presenting this with clarity to stakeholders at all levels.
You will have worked at a senior level, in leadership roles on major projects, utilising excellent stakeholder management skills to negotiate a complex and sometimes difficult landscape. You will be able to task and coordinate other Architects and Engineers and be comfortable taking overall ownership for the successful delivery of all technology aspects of programmes of work.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall accountability for delivery of technical aspects of large projects.
Translating customer needs into solutions which include: flexibility, availability (up time), business continuity, infrastructure and Cloud management, quality of service, security, equipment replacement, migration planning and post implementation support
Producing work packages to task delivery teams, as well as leading and coordinating technology delivery.
Managing stakeholders and communicating clearly to team members, customers and third parties.
Knowledge & Skills
Experience of designing and delivering technical solutions in areas such as:
- All methods of service delivery across the range of SaaS, PaaS and IaaS.
- Public/Private cloud platform design
- LoB application migration, upgrades, re-platforming, transformation.
- Delivery of industry-standard COTS products.

Experience & Attainments
- Lead Architect on several major projects, working alongside programme management in coordinating delivery teams of Architects, Engineers and others.
- Significant experience in a broad range of architectural domains but with a recent history in infrastructure deployments.
