Primary responsibilities will be to:
Working with a leading UK mobile operator, we are looking for a Network Capacity and Tools lead to work within our team. The work will involve working closely with the customer business and technology stakeholders leading the capacity planning to review the status of the network following a new tool being recently introduced. The role will also involve helping the customer to prevent congestion in the future/forecasting, and to setup key performance indicators based on their business requirements. The capacity tool will be applied to both Aggregation and Pre-Aggregation Routers in the transport network alongside the core network.
The role will focus on developing regular reporting and being able to translate data from the tool into information that allows the customer to take decisions on their current network alongside future forecasting.
Tasks will include:
- Analysis of capacity data and modelling what if scenarios from the new tool to give status of the network and to present on potential future issues/impact on changes in the network
- Comprehensive regular reports on capacity deployed and utilized in the Core, Aggregation and Pre-Aggregation network layers
- Understanding traffic trends, external network influences, regional growth, and other network inputs from the customer/suppliers
- Implement key performance indictors as per the customers' requirements ensuring capacity planning process and associated guidelines are put in place within the tooling
- Support the customer to create requirements for new capacity solutions into design teams
- Be the technical point of contact for the capacity planning tool
- Assist the customer if they need to add new device types into the capacity planning tool
Skills & Expertise
- Experience in Network/Telecoms domain
- Leadership experience, able to own an area of work
- Must be flexible and patient and have good time management skills.
- Experience in working with English
- Communications Service Provider Experience in the Access/Network Transport/Core domains
- Understanding and knowledge of how 3G/4G/5G RAN, cell site gateways, pre-aggregation and aggregation equipment is brought into the network
- Ability to manage and prioritize across conflicting requirements of multiple deliveries and partners
- Hands on experience of Cisco WAN Automation WAE (Formerly Cariden)
- Hands on experience on Cisco and Huawei L3 Switches/Routers experience is desirable
