Software Development Engineer in Test
Southampton (2 days per week onsite)
Outside IR35
£350pd - £450pd
My client is an innovative British financial technology company and is on a mission to revolutionise the way business is conducted in its chosen business segments.
They require a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to work closely with the testing and development functions in delivery of an effective test automation solution.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Develop infrastructure tools such as simulators' and stubs' to support the automated testing and maximize coverage.
Help implement and maintain CI capability.
Facilitate communication between technical and business stakeholders.
Align to the overarching risk-based approach, maximizing test coverage for the most critical solution features.
Peer review activities.
Understand and develop complex test data sets.
Help build, maintain and continuously improve the group automation framework and associated policies.
Communicate and log all Risks, Issues and Dependencies, particularly those relating to automated testing.
Knowledge, skills and experience
To be considered for this role, you will need:
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
Strong programming abilities with expertise in C#, Java & JavaScript
Strong SQL/DB skills
Experience using continuous Integration tools (Jenkins & TeamCity)
Experience of working in agile teams and an excellent understanding of JIRA
Knowledge of Specflow/Cucumber & experience of implementing automation frameworks
Additional skills preferred
Documenting APIs - Swagger/Postman
Python, Ruby
Knowledge of Back End services and integrations including microservice architecture
Experience with common data structures, algorithms and distributed solutions
Ready-made automation framework experience such as Serenity BDD, Cypress etc.
Experience of WinAppDriver, Microsoft UI Automation, or similar native MS Windows automation frameworks
Experience of Apache Jmeter
